Black Sabbath will only take part in Download festival this summer! Ozzy & Friends will replace other dates of the European tour.

Because of Tony Iommi’s lymphoma cancer, Black Sabbath will participate only in the 10th Jubilee of Download.
Black Sabbath confirmed on their website that Download is going to be the only festival the band will participate in. Ozzy Osbourne will replace the biggest part of the scheduled Black Sabbath’s shows called Ozzy & Friends.
The band made an announcement in November that they are planning to make a new album (the previous album was recorded 33 years ago) and to have a round-the-world tour in 2012. But, unfortunately, lymphoma cancer at the early stages was found at their guitarist, Tony Iommi, in January, so the drummer, Bill Ward, informed us that there are not going to participate in the events such as Bergen Calling Festival, Jelling Festival, Azkena Rock Festival, Graspop Metal Meeting, Hellfest, Rockwave Festival–Terra, and Gods Of Metal Festival.
Ozzy will perform at all the dates of the planned tour titled as Ozzy and Friends. Geezer Butler will be the ‘special guest’. Slash and Zakk Wylde will participate in some of the shows.
Download 2012 will be held at Donington Park (8th-10th June). The Prodigy are the headliners of Friday, Metallica is performing on Saturday with their ‘black album’. Black Sabbath will play on Sunday. Other confirmed acts are Soundgarden, Biffy Clyro, Chase & Status, Slash, Megadeth, Rise Against, Black Label Society, Steel Panther, Billy Talent, Kyuss Lives, Five Finger Death Punch, As I Lay Dying, Terrorvision, Fear Factory, Ginger (The Wildhearts), Periphery, Reckless Love, Tenacious D, You Me At Six, Machine Head, Lamb Of God, Trivium, Devin Townsend, Little Angels, Devildriver, Anthrax, August Burns Red, and Ugly Kid Joe.
If you are a music fan, then don’t waste time and use the opportunity to purchase the tickets for Download 2012! You can buy festival tickets here.
